First was Nik. He came to choose the wood for the uke he has ordered, but also to show us the amazing banjo uke he had recently purchased. A modern wonder and an engineering feat. All carbon fiber and a drum head,
They are made in Bend Oregon. Sorry, I can't recall the name.
Here's Nik trying to decide from among the backs of spalted Maple from the Fountain District Tree that he and a friend have sawn into planks. Amazingly lovely wood.
This combination was his second choice.
His first choice
Then came Carla, excited to see my new stash of East Indian Rosewood and select the back for her tenor that we started yesterday.
And this incredible wood will be the back on her Kasha tenor.
I was able to find this back in the same set. It too will be spectacular. Anyone want it ?
