I HAVE BEGUN A NEW BUILD CYCLE OF THREE TENORS. each will have a different wood used for the neck, Alaska Cedar, Honduran Mahogony and Black Walnut. I was a little concerned that the walnut would add too much weight to it's uke so I decided to break out my wifes trusty Krups kitchen scale and weight two almost identical neck blanks. One of walnut, one of mahogany. The results surprised me.
Not enough difference to be noticeable. I was surprised. The Alaska cedar neck blank is a quarter of an inch narrower and weighing it would not have proved anything.
