We flew business class on Emirates Air.  What a wonderful service. This was our steward, a charming and efficient fellow, a native of Dubai.  14 hours from Seattle to Dubai, and then another three to Mumbai, India.  Our mission- to attend the wedding of our grand-daughter laura Christie to Kunal Khanna, a son of India.
We were so impressed with this airline.  Service and food were immaculate and delicious, the seats and accommodations made a trip of this duration tolerable.

I ordered the Continental Breakfast.  Note the tablecloth and real silverware.

We were met at the Mumbai airport by the bride and our daughter and family with a big bus to transport the 20 plus folks on the plane who were coming to the wedding.  Incredibly there are 80 young Aussies, friends of he buried and groom, and at least 40 people from the Pacific Norrhwesr who have come all this way for the wedding.

All the guests are staying in the Sea Princess hotel.  Modern to a fault, clean as a whistle with incredible service.  charming, pleasant, friendly employees everywhere.  It is pretty obvious that labor is cheap because it surely is plentiful.

The first order of business in our first day was shopping for proper clothing for the wedding.  Salim lewis chose this outfit,  Indian Wedding clothing is flamboyant, colorful, and unbelievably carried.  I will be showing you lots of various clothing choices in upcoming blogs.  Look at the mens clothing in the racks behind Salim.  Incredible fabrics and designs.  Lots of fun like getting ready for a costume ball, or a Gilbert and Sullivan opera.

Here is Steve Pope, a longtime friend of the Christie family in his modest selection for the big wedding night tomorrow night.  This is a three day event and everyone dresses differently for each event.  Wow it's like Bollywood.  Wait till you see some of the pictures I will be posting in coming days.

Weddings have a special place in my heart. Ever since I was a little girl, I remember wishing that I become a bride even without a groom. I love the idea of standing in front of God and promising to each other that you will love another forever. That is also the reason why I do not support people who get divorced because I value my religion very much. We believe that marriage is sacred and should only be entered into by two people who are sure with each other.
