The Captain and First Mate confer.
And as we sailed Dean takes a pass on the bass while Joe Dodd, the regular bass player stands by. Laura and Jim sit on the deck house playing ukes in accompaniment.
And here is Jim, a very accomplished player trying out my Juniper Tenor as Dean accompanies on the bass. I am delighted to say that Jim liked the tenor very much. Laura looks on in admiration of his skills.
Just one of the little details of decoration that make Zodiac such a classic vessel. She is a romantic feast for the eyes and the imagination.
And of course the food is wonderful. This was barbecue night in Parks Bay on Shaw Island. "Cookie" barbecued flank steak and these shish kabob vegetables on the charcoal grill. It was half hour late because as we came into the bay we stopped to watch a pod of Orca with their new baby fishing in front of the bay entrance. This trip had everything.
After dinner in the Salon we enjoyed a little wine, a beer and a little quiet ukulele music.
The next morning the ships cat was sleeping in on deck.
Here is the comfortable salon in broad day-light. through the door you can see the galley table.
Now its time to sail again
Another anchorage, contemplating the bass
And as the sun goes down Dean and Lila and I are doing a little jam on "The Crawdad Song".
