IF YOU WANT TO KNOW what the daughter will look like when grown, look at the mother. Well I guess that kind of fits with this picture. The uke above is a just boxed up concert. The uke below is a recently completed tenor. I am rather fond of the looks of these" blondes". The Alaska Cedar necks and Englemann spruce tops contrast nicely with the brown tones of theKoa or Australian Blackwood backs and sides. A Honduran rosewood fretboard and gold Ivo frets are all set off with some wonderfully figured Blackwood binding. Understated elegance, And the combo of woods sounds produces a warm and out reaching resonance. The other two concerts just got boxed up tonight. Tomorrow I can start the binding process. I really don' t like to take the router to these new babies but that binder groove must be cut.
