You always want to make the soundboard and the back a bit larger than you really want, and then trim down to the proper size. This process begins with a bend of blue tape for the router roller glide on keeping the blade just a tapes distance away from the side.
Your can see the little wheel that rides on the blue tape. The cutter cuts at the same depth. The tape keeps it from scarring the side. The tiny lip left is easily sanded down by hand for a perfectly flat surface.
And so the boxed body awaits its trimming.
I only takes a few minutes with the ukulele held firmly in the clamp device.
And now the ukulele is nicely trimmed with smooth edges all around, top and bottom.
