More on completing these two tenors;  I put Gotah UPT tuners on both.  I really like these well made tuners,  4 to 1 turning ratio- just right for ukes, reliable and good looking, and I strung them with the new UkeLogic low G strings.  You ought to try them.  Excellent I think.

Next was installing the MiSi pickup in Stephen's uke.  He wanted the fancy new one with a tiny microphone in it and digital volume controls.  It starts with a pilot hole drilled at center rear.

Next, the big hole drilled with the step drill.

It cuts a nice clean hole and I got it well centered on the koa back strip

It is essential that the bottom of the saddle groove be perfectly flat.  These box knife blades scrape away and irregularities.  The bottom of the saddle must also be perfectly flat and is sanded with 500 grit sandpaper on the perfectly flat surface of my table saw.

Now the piezo cable is fished up from within the uke and laid flat in the groove and the saddle placed over it.  The controls are waiting outside the sound hole.

'they are attached with sticky paper to the underside, beside the sound hole

They can hardly be seen, but are easy to touch and turn.

And now these two ukes are done.  I am going to play them for a day or two to be sure everything is right.
