OR MAYBE THIS PICTURE should have been entitled "MOTHER AND CHICKS'. With each additional application of french polish the luster gets richer and the wood grain stand out more. takes me about one hour each day to make the application. When it looks properly thick I will lightly sand it with wet and dry paper dipped into water that contains a drop of dish washing liquid. That keeps the paper from clogging. When all the little bumps and uneven spots are leveled a few more applications of the diluted shellac and the concert pinecones will be ready to sell, the two string bass ready for its life participating in ukulele jams. Each day before I apply the shellac I tune it up and play it a little bit. I am really pleased with it's voice.
