The final tasks were completed today,  shaping of the neck, sanding everything through three grits of sand paper, installing side dots.  It is time to start the French Polish.

Oops, I forgot to install the side dots on the fret board- no problem, not too late.

put it in a padded vise and mark the spots with a sharp awl so the drill bit will not stray.

Select the right sized drill bit and drill holes at each location about 3/16ths deep. I use an old fashioned hand drill because I can control it better than an electric drill in this delicate place.

Then insert a thin acrylic rod and cut it off flush.  It is tight and the finish will keep it in place.

And here they are, small but very visible when playing.  Tomorrow begins the French Polish.
