THE TOP IS GLUED

Look at this beautiful Sitka Spruce.  This is the bottom side where the glue could not be wiped up and it spread over the saran wrap protecting the saw table.  A few passes with the scraper cleaned off the excess glue.

Now it is clean and ready to work with.  I will start with laying on the design

Here is the pattern cut from some newsprint.  stuck on with tape so it won't change position as I scribe around the edge with a pencil

And here it is cut out on the band saw, with a quarter inch to spare around the edges.  I have not cut the rosette in yet,  That is just the walnut rosette I will be using laid in the approximate position on the top.  Maybe I will get the router going tomorrow and install the rosette and cut the sound hole.
