I HAVE GROWN WEARY OF my tinny, Chinese made portable music stand and have decided to make a permanent one of wood for my living room. I had a big chunk of pretty cherry wood in my wood stash, It is in the workshop now waiting to be cut up and converted into a piece of musical furniture. I will do much of the work on my lathe, Here is my plan, in case you want to make one yourself. I am making this high enough to hang a baritone above the carpet. The music rack will raise just a few inches It will be locked into its chosen level by a wooden screw that will also lock the instrument holder in place. I will be showing the progress on the blog as it progresses.
