HERE THEY ARE, the next three tenors, lined up showing off their new side sound ports.
All three of these beauties have tops of that master grade redwood from the New York City rooftop water tank. I am really eager to hear what it sounds like. The Indian Rosewood uke in the front is sold. So is the tigerstripe maple uke that is in the middle. Only the tenor in the back with Australian Blackwood sides and back is available for sale. It will be a beauty as the blackwood is highly figured. It is a lovely wood, a cousin of Koa.
It has an Alaska Cedar neck and I have not decided on its binding yet. The Indian Rosewood gets an ebony fretboard. The other two have fretboards of Honduran Rosewood, very pretty stuff! Once I get these sanded on the back edges they are ready for boxing up, Always a fun event.
