Sometimes, when you run out of clamps and hold-downs, you just have to revert to mother natures help. Here is how I applied clamping pressure on a glued down backing plate.
This pretty beach rock did the job just fine. Notice, I now have the back up ring under the rosette glued in. It is very light cedar and the grain runs counter to the grain of the Redwood. Next are the Tone Bars
The tone bars are cut to fit over that bridge backing plate. Here is the required cut.
By the way, that bridge backing plate is a piece of hard walnut. I want a piece of hardwood there to support the bridge pin and handle the pressure of the string knot. It wants to be hardwood.

This photo shows how the tone bars fit over the backing plate. Takes just a few minutes with a fine tooth exacto saw and a sharp exacto knife.
