Putting in the label is about the last thing I do when a uke is finished.  Here is the label for Stuart Fuch's new baritone, just put in today.

this Bari is built of the same wood as the tenor that I made him a couple of years ago.  I am very pleased with its tone, sustain, intonation and playability.  I think he will like it.  'The 159th instrument that I have built-where did the time go?

The label straddles the upper bout brace and so must be cut into two pieces.

And here is the label for Walker's tenor, I put it in early, I will string his uke up tomorrow.

The bridge is on.  In the morning I will add the strings and we will see how she sings.

The concert is coming along rapidly.  Here are the pieces for the heel cap.  They are now installed and shaped.  Next step is making the fretboard and cutting the slots.  Think I will use Honduran Rosewood, it's hard, durable and has a pretty brown color.
