THE LARGE AND THE SMALL

Been making a little progress the last few days on the concert and the baritone.

The Concert top and back are in the Go-Bar getting their braces.

And here is the Australian Blackwood back for the baritone with its braces.

I cut thin 3/8th wide strips of maple veneer to reinforce the center joint.  Here is my low tech clamping system to hold them down while the glue dries.  A bag of #6 lead shot, and a chunk of old rail are mighty handy in the workshop.

And finally the baritone soundboard is completed with it's complex Kasha bracing.  26 separate pieces to make and attach.  That bridge brace is a piece of Olive tree from the island of Corfu in Greece.  This Baritone will have wood from three continents. I have not decided what the binding will be.  May get a fourth continent represented.
Guess it is time to start bending sides.  Maybe tomorrow.
