As the French Polishing continued 0n ukuleles #142 & 143 today I heated up the hot pipe to bend the sides for #144 & #145. This homemade pipe is heated by a soldering iron fixed inside it. It gets to a maximum of 260 degrees.
These are the East Indian Rosewood sides. In the mold to dry and cool.
And below are the mahogany sides plus an extra East Indian spare. This is another way to set the bend, works fine.
I will leave the sides in their various molds overnight. Tomorrow they will be ready to install.
