THE FIRST SANDING

Once the French Polish buildup is substantial and looking really good it is time to dull it all down with a delicate sanding with 1500 grit wet/dry sandpaper dipped in water with a little detergent.  This really gets it smooth and removes any little build up.  .

Once that sanding is done a new piece of cotton cloth is added and 8 drops of dilute shellac, 3 drops of alcohol, and one drop of olive oil on this pad is now applied to the instrument.

And the result is a smoother, shinier finish.  It is beginning to look like spring in Bellingham and a Ukulele drying in the sun is joined by some daffodils.
These tenors are pretty close to completion now.

Man the cocobolo looks stunning. One of the nicer ones I've seen.
