I have rubbed on coat after coat of dilute shellac mixed in a shellac to alcohol formula called 2 pound cut. Now, in this last phase I will rub on about three coats of a thinner mixture called 1 pound cut. There is twice the amount of alcohol in this thinner mixture. I don't quite understand why, but the 1 pound cut increases the shine of the finish remarkably. I drop onto the "Munica" 8 drops of shellac, three drops of alcohol and one drop of olive oil. Wow you ought to see the resulting shine.
Two more coats of the 1 pound cut and this Brazilian Rosewood/Redwood will be ready for its ebony bridge.
We are getting close now. At this stage of the build I always seem to begin thinking about what to do with the next build. I think I will build another three tenors, and I will surely use the water tank Redwood. I find I still have enough East Indian Rosewood and it makes such great ukes, I will most likely do one of those.

Then I found this last set of Brazilian Rosewood. I think I will use this. The uke will have a big "skunk stripe" but some folks really like that. I bought enough Brazilian for three tenors, this will be the last of them.
I also have a lovely set of figured Claro Walnut that tempts me, But the wood that really intrigues me is some really showy Cocobolo. I have never used Cocobolo before. I hear it is toxic so you must wear dust protection, and that it extremely oily and difficult to glue. It is truly spectacular wood. I will show it to you in the next blog, probably tomorrow night-stay tuned.
