NOW COMES THE FINAL LITTLE DETAILS that make all the difference.  drilling the string holes in the saddle and drssing them properly, filing the notches in the nut in just the right place, setting the action by lowering strings to just the right height over the fret board,  Installing the tuners and putting in the strings.  All little details which if not done properly will create disaster.  Pays to slow down and take your time at this stage.

a tapered reamer is used to prepare the hole for the Pegheds. Must not push the reamer in to far.  Thus the tape marking the correct depth.

Pegheds are tapered and threaded.
two  right handed and two lefthanded threads.  you don't want to make a mistake here.

I use an old  hand drill for slow careful accuracy in drilling string holes in just the right spot.  Got to measure it out carefully and start your hole with a sharp pointed awl.

Now insert the strings in the holes, fish the end out the sound hole, knot it and pull it up to the tuners,  A fool proof technique.

With a fine saw I start the string notch on the Buffalo Bone nut.

With fine files the notch is widened and  made to  set the string at just the right height  above the frets.
