The final act of the binding work is now done, The end piece that I like to include at the bottom of the uke to cover the sometimes unsightly joint where the sides meet. As an earlier post showed, I rout a triangle shaped channel. Then I carefully glue in some purling on each side and shape a piece of wood that matches the binding to fit in the channel.
Here is the channel wit a piece of black white purfling glued to the left side. another piece was glued to the right side and then a piece of tiger stripe maple cut and fitted for the center piece. worked out nicely. I will post a picture of it tomorrow after the sanding is all done. This is going to be a pretty uke I think.
