Well, I call it "The Turtle' and it is the slickest jig that I have come up with yet to install sides.
It has a couple more legs than a turtle should have but it does a perfect job of holding the sides in the proper position while I clamp and glue them to the soundboard top.
Here it is with the top and neck in position and the side glued and held in perfect position by the adjustable slides on each leg of the turtle and the permanent post on the turtle's tail. Now for the clamps.
It's all clamped down and the glue is drying
Once the glue is set it is time to add the tentalones. These simple "split clamps" do the job nicely.
Here are the four ukes, each in a different stage of the process. The one with the clothes pins is getting its bottom tier of tentalones glued on, held by the clothes pins that have been power assisted by a tight rap of rubber band.
It is the farthest along and will be ready to receive it's back when the glue is dried. Of course the back is not made yet, That will be the next adventure. Stay tuned.
