Now all the pieces are assembled, except the fretboard and the peg head plate. Tis the time to sharpen the scraper and get out the sandpaper to get the body all smoothed up, level the binding with top and sides and pay attention to detail. Here is the end piece, now installed and almost smoothed in with scraper. Next the sandpaper.
The ebony heel cap is now firmly attached and needs final shaping. I find that a sharp curved scraper works well for the fine work here, after first using a knife, and rasp to get it close to shape. I like to get a nice curve or hook here and will need to do some more work to make it look graceful. Perhaps tomorrow.
