THE BOW SANDER, A GREAT TOOL

Here is a terrific tool that you make for yourself.  I have never seen a bow sander in a wood working store or catalog but I would not be without mine.  They are very easy to make and extremely useful when working on anything with curves.  I buy aggressive sandpaper of about 80 grit, affix it to my bow sander using a shingle nail to slip into the grooves at either end and use it regularly to sand the graceful curves into my Pinecone Ukuleles.
Here I am using it on three Concert Pinecones I am currently building.
Take some scrap wood and make a bow sander for yourself, Every woodworker needs one

Marlene. I have never seen one for sale. I made my own and suggest you find a local woodworker to make one for you. Think I will post a blog on how to make one tonite. It is really very simple.

No doubt that it has been the most terrific tool for hunters that had been doing it in the traditional ways. For that they are sure to know about getting their bow sander in the accurate condition before the start of season.
