I built a successful tenor banjo/uke a couple of years ago and just got talked into building another by a friend who enjoys playing it and wanted one for himself.  Here is the neck being shaped.  I made this neck of maple laminated with a strip of Australian Blackwood.  Should be a pretty touch.  Next I need to turn the body ring.

I will turn the ring from a block of Silver Maple which grew as a street tree in Walla Walla. Here I drill pilot holes to attach turning plate.

Ready to turn!  Yes that is a tambourine you are seeing in the background.  I removed the bangles, it will fit into the ring and be held in tight with a maple resonator.  sounds strange but it makes a perfectly good banjo leather head.
