Well, almost. I will do a little work with the scraper but after a couple of afternoons of work, this back is about ready to attach. I think I may scrape it a little thinner.
I bought a new forstner bitt today and ground the center pin down really short and then quickly went over the entire back reducing the thickness a bit. Kind of cleaning it up for the final work
Then, first with a sanding disk on a hand drill and then with a cutter on a Dremel, and finally with this great scraper, the back is almost ready to go. I think I will spend some more time with the scraper to get that back a little thinner, smoother and more able to vibrate. This is the proto-type tenor Pinecone. I want to take my time to do it right. Who knows how it will sound.
