IT has been a while since I showed you how the last build is coming.  First the Redwood, East Indian.

This wood is so much fun to work with!  it just loves to take a finish and it rewards you with a terrific shine.  You do have to fill the pores but once you get that done you just can't believe how shiny it gets.

This will get a couple more applications, then a light sanding with wet 600 grit, then three final coats of thin shellac and it will be string up time.  I can hardly wait to hear it.  I am keeping this one for myself for a while at least-until the "water-tank" tenors are done.

The two maple/juniper ukuleles are looking good too.  I really love the look of this combination accented by the Australian Blackwood highly figured binding.  They sound great too.  My current favorite uke is one of this combination.  I hope these two sound as good.

Juniperus Maritime takes on a lovely color as it is finished.  I am now convinced that this is a Great tone-wood.
It looks and sounds rich and round.

Here is the spalted maple peg head on one of the three.  Got to drill those tuner holes one of these days.

thanks for the update.....
Your pleasure, and pride are showing . . .nicely

At what point in creation & development, can you TELL the tone
is going to be good.....for sure .....do you "thump" the wood ?
have to wait for string placement.....at what point does it reveal itself to you ?
