STARTING THE 100TH. INSTRUMENT

I had a few good hours in the workshop today getting ready for the 100th.

Got the neck extensions glued on and then shaped them, now ready to build with. I got excellent glue joints,  these will be good looking necks.

The next task was to thin the East Indian Rosewood and eliminate the saw marks.

You can still see the marks of the bend saw on this piece

But after two more passes through the sander the marks are gone and it is ready for the next step.

And the next step is to glue together the two pieces that will make up the top, and the two pieces for the back.  Here I have two pieces of Redwood edge glued and in the clamping device.

 Here is a side clamped onto the saw sled and about to be run through the saw. Notice the little white marks at either end.  Awfully hard to see the pencil line on these dark woods.  The white pencil guides me.

Here is the first cut.

And here is the second, and this side is ready to bend once I thin it down to about .075.
