Spalted Maple can be incredibly beautiful but some of it is quite soft and needs to be reinforced.
I do that with this thin mahogany veneer glued to the interior of the uke, in this case I am glueing veneer to the sides.
The back also has a complete layer of mahogany veneer giving it needed strength.
Now with the back glued on it is time to trim the edges and prepare for the bindings
Meanwhile Rick is preparing to glue the bridge on Timark's tenor.
When the glue has set it will be time to string this baby up.
