Not much time to work in the shop today, but I got a lot done in the time I had
Picture
I put a new roll of 140 grit paper in the thickness sander and prepared for some serious thinning go the parts.  The first victims were the sides.  I took them down to  .80

Next I needed to flatten one side of the 3/4 inch backs, the side that I will carve concave.  This must fit flush to the sides.

Repeated passes through the sander and finally I have three perfectly flat backs ready to begin the carving.

Next it was time to cut the sound hole and thin the soundboards.  Here is the Engelmann Spruce soundboard running through the sander.

Here they are, all thinned down to .80 and ready for the braces and neck.
