THESE BABIES are almost done, Sanded with 180, then 220, then 320, then 400. Oh my, I am getting a little weary of breathing sanding dust, but they are close to being done. One more sanding tomorrow with 600 grit and thats enough. I need to do the final shaping and sanding on the necks and then I will be starting the French Polish.
good sanding tools really make a difference. I use these plastic things with a handle that fits into the heel of your hand. Lots easier and hands and fingers and you can get plenty of pressure to your work if you wish to.
I buy sticky back sandpaper in rolls like this. It is a great aid to just cut off a piece and have it adhere to your sanding block. The other advice I would suggest is changing to fresh sand paper frequently.
It makes the job much more efficient.
