It is always a joy to "Play In" new instruments, getting the strings stretched, checking for intonation, tone and proper action.  These three are excellent.

still have some touch up to do on the French Polish but this one is looking pretty good

Yesterday I installed Misi pickups in two of the ukes.  A tricky process.  they are both working well.
Picture
first you drill a tiny hole in the saddle slot and insert a thin wire through it.  the wire is pulled out the sound hole and attached to the piezo cable of the pickup.
Picture
then you gently pull the cable out the hole from within and lay it in the saddle slot. The pickup is loose inside the uke.
Picture
the saddle is placed in the slot pressing down on the pickup cable.

Previously you had drilled a 1/2 inch hole in the center strip with this step drill
Picture
a wooden dowel is inserted through the hole and into the plug hole of the pickup.  The  dowel fits tight in the hole and with it you bring the barrel of the pickup out of the hole and fix it tightly with its washer, nut and strap button.  Thats all there is to it, now you can charge the pickup and play your uke with an amplifier.
