The French Polishing has begun on #'s 112 and 113 so it is about time to plan my next build.  #114 will be for Beth, a devotee of Stuart Fuchs, Beth has ordered a tenor very similar to Stu's.,  I promised her the opportunity to choose the wood for the back of her instrument-So here are six choices Beth.  Take your time.

Each one of these backs are unusual pieces of East Indian Rosewood which is typically rather straight grained.  They all came from a stash recently sold by a former guitar maker.  I was really fortunate to find this wood.

With the first application of French Polish this back is already beginning to pop.  Is this wild enough for you George?

Rich is getting a more sedate, but still exotic back.
SO THERE YOU HAVE IT-  THE BACK STORY

That’s some wild rosewood. Reminds me of some of the Grammer Guitars built by Billy Grammer’s company in the 60’s.

Seems like George and I are the charter owners of the “Griffin Stu Fuchs Signature Model” tenor ukulele! This could be the next big trend in ukulele craze!!!

Pretty much what I expected, really beautiful. Jeez, looks like you’ve started a one man mill!
