NOW FOR THE HEEL CAP

I like a "hook" at the heel of the neck. That requires a heel cap of wood matching the fret board and black/white/black fabric under it that matches that of the binding .

Now with plane, a sharp exacto blade and scraper the heel cap is carved to fit

I’ve been following your blog and truly appreciate your sharing. I built a baritone Uke last summer, and now I’m hooked! I have two tenors lined up to build using Western red cedar tops. I plan on venturing into binding on my next build, and I am fretting over all that’s involved But that’s half the fun of it I guess. I did have one question. Do you compensate your saddles?
