MiSi Pickups

Pickups are a nice addition to a ukulele, even if you only us them to practice with an amplifier.  I have long been an advocate of MiSi Pickups and have installed dozens.  Two more today.  Containing a pre-amp, a simple one minute charge connected to 110 and you can play through an amplifier for 16 hours.  No battery to change, simple to use and very high quality, plus you get a nice strap button to boot.

This is all that you see on the outside, the strap button.  The piezo cable is hidden beneath the saddle.

Hello again, Brian. Lovely looking instrument, as always. I'm really curious how you install a pickup in a Kasha. My first tenor uke build, I installed the K&K Aloha before gluing on the back. I want to install the same pickup in the Kasha tenor I'm building, but with a string-through bridge, I'd be afraid I'd drill through one of the pickups.

My little shop has been overrun. I'm building the Kasha with Redwood and Black Walnut, a 23" scale nylon string tenor guitar with Redwood and E.I. Rosewood, and a pear-shaped baritone from torrefied Sitka and California Laurel. The baritone is styled after a 1920s era Washburn 5265 tenor guitar. Loads of work and fun. I finally broke down and bought a proper dust collector!

I had the opprotunity to play Torsten's tenor yesterday. Not only is it one of the best looking one I've seen but also one of the best sounding and easy to play tenors I've played. I have little doubt Beth's tenor is just as good.

I'm a lucky man owning three of Brians G's and trust Beth and Torsten will be as happy and satisfied as I am with theirs. And, even luckier that I get to play many of his new creations before they're shipped off to the new owner.

thanks Pat, for your kind words. I really like Torsten's tenor too. Played it for an hour yesterday. The thinner neck felt really good. It is ready to send to Denmark now.
