I have been playing this just completed tenor for a couple of days now. It may be the best uke I have made. Wonderful tone, perfect intonation, incredible sustain and playability. Sometimes you just get it right.
The soundboard is Western Red Cedar from a marvelous log that I split planks from fifty years ago. Amazing tight grain, wonderful wood.
The wood for the back and sides were sent to me from Finland with the request to make a ukulele with it. I was able to resaw it and was amazed at what I found. Beautiful wood. It is European Birch.
