IF YOU EVER TRAVEL to Maui you must visit Bounty Music. This place is absolutely festooned with ukuleles. They hang from the ceilings where you can just reach up and grab one to try it out (the less expensive ones that is). Scores of Kalas, Ponos, you name it. Behind the counter where the clerks are happy to hand you one are the fancy Koa ukes with price tags from 600 to $2,500. Everything you can imagine for the musician is in this store.
I spent half an hour gawking, talking with a very pleasant clerk and trying some of the uses, including a $1,700 koa, one of the K brands that the clerk thought was great. Frankly I liked the sound and feel of my Native back at the room better.
Next I dropped in at Mele Ukulele to say hello to Cheryl Rock. She was not there but at their new store at Waialea. Had a nice chat with Eva and looked at some of their impressive line of ukes.

Then back to a little uke practice from our balcony while enjoying the view. Tough Life !!!
