MAHALO KOHOLU, MAHALO MAUI PADDLE SPORTS

WHAT A MORNING !  Once again we went paddling on the big outrigger canoe of Maui Paddle Sports. We experienced an hour 45 minutes of pure joy. A perfect sunny day, a gentle trade wind, and the incredible experience of paddling up to with 30 feet of a great Humpback mom and her baby. As Jaimie and Mike sang incantations to Koholu and the sea god we drifted on the ocean and the whales came toward us.  The curious baby swimming closer and closer and finally spy hopping to see just who in the world was singing those praises to the whales. I took these photos with an iPhone so you can imagine how close we really were.  What a thrill. We will not soon forget.

HERE IS MOTHER, LONGER THAN OUR CANOE
TO COMPLETE this wonderful morning,  close to shore along Black Rock we came within 4 feet of honu basking on the surface.  He raised his head in alarm and dove below the canoe, a lovely turtle to finish our day.

Wow! What a day! Mahalo for sharing your experience. We are so pleased that the whales out on such a good show but we believe good mana, good energy brings good things. So the experience was as much about you as the whales!
Aloha, Amy
