The last views of Ireland. It truly is beautiful country. Glad I came, but eager to be home again
Traveling is all about waiting. When I got to the Bloc hotel at Gatwick airport at 11:00 I was told the check in time was 1:00. Having nothing better to do, I sat in a lounge and very quietly fingerpicked tunes on my Pinecone ukulele. The old "English Country Gardens" seemed appropriate. Good practice and hardly anyone can hear if you pick really lightly.
Promptly at 1:00 I was able to check in, and find myself with a tiny room with a big view. I am on the 8th floor of this hotel built right into the South Terminal of the Gatwick airport. Incredibly modern, clean, ought to do the job just fine, but not so good if you had claustrophobia. I suppose that is why the big window.
