I hate to see even a junk uke broken and out of action so today I decided to re-attach the bridge to this cheapo that someone brought to my shop. Really not worth the effort, but some little kid might learn to play on this uke if I fix it. I scraped off the old glue from both top and bridge down to bare wood. I discovered that the bridge had not even been in the right place, The scale length was about half inch too long. Must have been heck to play.
anyway, the new glue is clamped and setting up. This uke does have a backing plate under the bridge so I will put the screw back in as well. Imagine, attaching a bridge with a screw. Not much confidence in the glue I guess.
