I WAS WORKING AWAY on my history book when I was pleasantly surprised by a visit from two guys from nearby Western Washington University who were out for a jog. Both being ukulele players they reacted to my "Uke" sign outside the shop door and in they came. Two charming and pleasant guys. We spent a half an hour talking ukulele

THE FELLA on the right is heading to Uganda in July to teach in a village where the school makes music on its one instrument, a drum. I gave him a beater ukulele that I had hanging in the shop to give to the kids. He thought a uke would be a hit in Uganda.
This is the picture he will show the Ugandan kids of the old luthier who gave them the uke. This old uke was given me a couple of years ago and I was just waiting for a kid to give it to, Seemed like a whole village of kids was the right place for it.
