The Band lined up and waiting for the parade.  The groom rides to the wedding on a white horse wearing a saber.  the parade progresses slowly for only about three blocks, with dancing and load music.  Takes at least an hour.  It is met at the wedding venue by the bride's family, 6 of their elders greet 6 of the grooms, money is given and the groom is welcomed.

Ancient customs must be a large part of the ceremony. It's humbling and awe inspiring plus exciting.
