This luscious bottle of Zinfandel is payment for a little job I did for my friends Bill and Sally Baird. Sally has a lovely Koa tenor made by Woodlin White of Na"Alehu in Hawaii. It is a masterful ukulele, but Woodlin does not put side dots on the fretboard.
Sally wanted them.
Sally wanted them.
here is her lovely ukulele on my workbench awaiting its side dots. Look at that Koa.!!
And here is Sally's lovely husband Bill who came to pick up the uke after I had installed the side dots. I call him lovely because he brought me the bottle of Zin. Thanks Bill and Sally, Happy to help.
i also made some good progress today on the tenor for Lee. Got the side sound hole installed. Lots of sanding here, and the CA glue stains will soon disappear.
Then I cut the grooves for the back braces in preparation for boxing this tenor up.
And here we are, The tenor is boxed. The back fits nicely, This Bubinga body will get lovely tiger stripe maple binding from Pacific Rim Tonewoods to go with its neck. A clone of the nice uke I just sent off to Torsten in Denmark. This will be another pretty one with a narrow, fast neck.
