I got the mortices for the legs cut today, and one of the feet turned and morticed and just had to bring the new music stand up to the living room to see how it is going to look. The legs are just loose in their mortice holes, only one foot is stuck on, but I could not resist. I will get the other two feet on tomorrow, square everything up and hit it with lots of epoxy. Ought to have it done for real by tomorrow night. My wife took a picture of me breaking it in. I thought my playing improved- my wife did not think so.
Once I get the wood parts all in place I will start on the instrument hanger that will be attached to the large adjustment ring. I bought a sheet of brass from which I hope to cut the hanger and which will screw to the adjustment ring. Also bought some black rubber tubing to slip over the ears of the brass device to protect the uke. If I designed this right I will be able to hang a baritone from it without it touching the floor. We will see how that goes.
