This package came in the mail today all the way from China. Months ago I ordered myself a banjo-lele on a Go-fund- it kind of a deal. The New Zealand folks were planning a 10 inch banjo uke to replace their 8 inch first model but they were not making them yet. Maybe you saw their ad. Anyway, I sent them their $385 US in advance and the instrument arrived today
Yep, this thing was made in China alright. Lets open the box and see what we have got.
A mighty colorful but lightly made gig bag. But now lets see what it contains.
Voila ! The Duke 10 banjo ukulele. This is a tenor. It arrived safely with no damage, the bridge laying flat under the strings and simple instructions on how to place the bridge and get it playing.
Remarkably, that little square thing with the wire attached is a tiny pickup. It works, I plugged into my Phil Jones bass amp and it amplified the banjo just fine.
The Peg Head is not exactly a work of art but the tuners seem OK, and the instrument sounds fine, like a junior banjo should
So here it is, the Duke 10, a birthday gift to myself. What is more fun than getting a new instrument, even if you didn't need it very badly.
then it was back to the workshop where the second Kasha uke got it's sides attached. These sides were a perfect bend and they just fell into place once I trimmed the ends to the proper length.
I think the best fit I have ever experienced. And I wondered if I would even be able to bend this wild cocobolo. This is going to be a very interesting tenor.

So Here we are, sides attached and even about half of the tentalones glued in.
