HAPPY TO BE BACK IN THE WORKSHOP. Not much done today but I did begin the final work on the fretboards
Carefully measuring and drawing a line up the exact center of each fretboard I am preparing to install the marker dots on these fretboards. After marking the spot for each marker dot I take an old leather awl with a very sharp point, and with it I make a beginning small hole in the exact center where the marker will go. This hole will center the small drill bitt that comes next.
Now each tiny hole is enlarged with a small drill bit in a finger drill. This larger hole will accept and guide the larger drill bit that is just the size of the mother of pearl or Pua abalone dot.
The same process is used on the side dots. First the awl to start the hole in the exact center. Then the drill bitt the size of the small side dots.
