THE OLD HAWAIiN UKE SINGS AGAIN!
It was in gruesom shape when she brought it in. Her grandfather had played it in the 20's she had found it in his house in California while clearing out his possessions. It looked like someone had stepped on it, the top badly broken and caved in, the bridge ripped off. I was able to clamp and glue some maple veneer cross grain across each break, pour a little super glue into the crack and epoxy on the bridge after removing the hide glue with heat. With some new green strings the pretty little thing sings quite sweetly. I was surprised and pleased with the results. I bet it sounds as good as it did when grandpa played it.
