A whole day in the workshop !, and I got a lot done. here is just a bit of it.
All three necks were finished and shaped, ready to attach to the tops. Final sanding and the peg heads will come when the bodies are all complete.
Here are the recesses into which the tops are inset. They are hogged out on the table saw and finished with a sharp chisel
Before attaching the necks you must cut away to the line. This is done with the
jeweler' s saw and it's tiny blade.

This is how it is going to fit. A little trial and error fitting here with some paring with a sharp exacto knife
Now the challenge is to get the neck on straight. This transparent two foot ruler really helps with that. Measure and measure again, you don't want a crooked ukulele.
Once you have it perfectly lined up, set this acrylic caul on spanning the neck and top. Notice the two holes, gently tap brads through those holes fixing the top to the neck. now you have two reference brad holes that go through both top and into the neck.
Now take it apart and apply the glue.

Measure again, tap in the brads and then measure one more time just to be sure.
If it is still straight, clamp it up tight and you are done.
