Now it is time to install the little dots, four to the top of each fret board, four even smaller ones on the sides. I use mother of pearl dots that I buy from the good folks at Hana Lima Ia in Honolulu. Like everything else in making ukes, you must measure twice or more to be sure the dots are set into the proper frets, lined up exactly down the center-line or on the middle of the thin edge. Kind of exacting work. I was just beginning when I took this picture. Now they are all done. Fretboards for three tenors and two banjo ukes.
