The first of the tenors to receive its top is seen here in a welter of clamps. The irwin clamps are wonderfully handy in making the initial positioning and clamp down and then the little spool clamps fill in all around assuring a tight fit.
Had limited shop time today but I had time to put a strip of veneer up the glue seam on each of the backs. This very thin veneer is cut so that its grain counters that of the back and will greatly strengthen that glued seam. Perhaps not it is not necessary but it adds virtually no weight and does not damage the tone. A worthy precaution.
