IT GETS NO BETTER THAN THIS. a couple of days ago I sent a check to Notable Woods on Lopez island in the San Juans. I ordered sides and a back of aaa grade Koa for the third uke in this current build cycle.
I mentioned to Bruce that his neighbor in the vacation home next door was my good friend Steve Mayo and that Steve might be willing to deliver my wood.
This morning the phone rang, Steve had the wood and came up to deliver. We had a delightful conversation and I was very pleased with the wood. It is going to make a beautiful tenor.
Steve incidently, is a renowned marine painter, a national prize-winner. If you want to see wonderful watercolor paintings of ships go to his web site.
I am tickled with the wood that Bruce Creps of Notable Woods selected for me. I intend to take a ferry boat ride soon to check out what other delights he might have hidden in that shop on Lopez.
Now that I have all the wood assembled I guess I had better get to work.
